Boy Dies in Accident

NAMPA Ė The 10-year-old son of a prominent Nampa couple died of what Canyon County Coroner, Henry Wesche ruled was accidental strangulation.
Paul Allen Walz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Walz, Nampa Route 3, was found hanging from a rope in the bard, Dr. Wesche said.
The boy apparently had gone to the barn to do some chores late Thursday afternoon.  When he failed to return for supper, his parents went to look for him.  They tried unsuccessfully to revive him by artificial respiration, the coroner said.
Dr. Wesche speculated that the boy, who had shown no signs of despondency, had been swinging back and forth on the rope and accidentally became entangled.
The boyís father, formerly employed here with Asgrow Inc., is a staff member of the University of Idaho Extension Service.  His mother, Mrs. Mary Dell Walz, teaches biology at Nampa Senior High School.
