Funeral services for Vera M. Cornell, 70, of Middleton, who
died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1982, at the home of her son in Eagle,
will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by Bishop Paul Okamura of the
Middleton 3rd War, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Interment will follow at Middleton cemetery.
She was born April 10, 1912 in Pocatello and was reared
and educated in Boise. She worked at Golden Idaho Press
in Boise where she met and married Clark Cornell on April 25,
1934 in Elko, Nev. They lived in Boise until 1936
when they moved to Middleton.
They farmed near Middleton from 1938 until 1946 when he
began working in construction. In 1958, he started a
feed mill in Middleton and she worked for the J.R. Simplot
Company in Caldwell until the early 60s.
She was active in the Caldwell League Bowling program
and as a volunteer for Pet Haven.
She is survived by her husband of Middleton; a son, Don
Cornell of Eagle; a sister, Mary Callahan of Salt Lake City,
Utah; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a niece and
Friends may call at the Flahiff Chapel, Caldwell,
Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Memorials may be
given to the Canyon County Pet Haven or the Middleton Library
photo available upon request.
