Earl Van De Venter

     Earl M. Van De Venter, 71, of Pomona, Calif., former Caldwell resident, died Saturday at Pomona.
     He was born April 15, 1887, in Richardson County, Neb., and married Lottie Sheller, on Jan 7, 1909, at Cheyenne, Wyo., and they came to Caldwell that same year.  He operated the Van's Rabbit Farm for a number of years.
     He was very active in mineral Clubs.
     He was a member of Mr. Moriah Lodge No. 39, AF&AM, member of the Ye-Old Timers Mineral Club and the Owyhee Gem and Mineral Club.
     Survivors include a brother, George R. Van De Venter of Pomona, Calif.;  a sister, Mrs. Ethel B. Young, Pomona;  a step-son, Royal Van De Venter of Butte, Mont.
     Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel.  Dr. H. H. Hayman will officiate.  Interment will be in Canyon Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Moriah Lodge No. 39, AF&AM will be in charge of the graveside rites.
