Gladys Cope

     Memorial Services for Gladys Mae Cope, 69, of Caldwell, who died Thursday, Sept. 15, at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Middleton Methodist Church.
     She was born Nov. 2, 1913, at Maramec, Okla., where she was reared and educated.  She moved to Idaho in 1946 and taught School at Middleton Elementary School for 28 years.  She received her teaching degree at Ashland Normal School in Oregon, and her bachelor's degree at the College of Idaho.  She married Kenneth C. Cope.  She retired from teaching in 1976, and she and her husband have spent their retirement years in extensive traveling.
     She is survived by her husband of Caldwell; one son, Stanley and family of American Falls; one daughter, Patricia Pedersen and family of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Claire Miller of Kennewick, Wash., Helen Troyer of Walla Walla, Wash., and Edna Sherrill of Portland, Ore.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Abby Butterfield, and two brothers, Ralph and Howard.
     Memorials may be made to Middleton Methodist Church Building Fund.
