Dies at Home of Son, Fred, Saturday Morning

Mrs. Loretta J.
Cawdry, 72, died at the home of her son, Fred Cawdry,
northeast of Wilder Saturday morning. The body is at the
Peckham funeral parlors in Caldwell. No funeral arrangements
had been made Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Cawdry has been a resident of the wilder community
for several years coming here with her family about 14 years
ago from Fairbury, Neb. Her husband died several years ago
and for the past few years she has been making her home with
her son.
The other sons, Joe and Mark, survive her. Both are
residents of the Wilder community. |

Funeral Services are Held This
Afternoon for Mrs. Loretta Cawdery

WILDER
(Special) - Funeral services for Mrs. Loretta Cawdery were
held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Wilder Methodist
church with Rev. J. Morgenthaler in charge. Interment was in
the Wilder cemetery.
Mrs. Cawdery, who for a number of years had been a
resident of the Wilder community, died at her home Saturday
morning. She has been in poor health since suffering a stroke
more than a year ago and on Wednesday before her death she
suffered another from which she failed to rally.
Mrs. Cawdery was born October 22, 1861, in Falls City,
Neb., and when a small child moved with her parents to
Washington county, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood. On
June 15, 1884, she was married to Alfred H. Cawdery and they
made their home on a homestead near Fairbury, Neb., until 1916
when the family came to Wilder. Mr. Cawdery passed away March
25, 1925.
Three sons survive, Fred J., Joseph H., and Mark W., all
of the Wilder community. In addition there are five
grandchildren and three brothers. Wesley Broady of Garden
City, Cal., Joseph Broady of San Diego, Cal., and Alvy Broady
of Oklahoma City, Okla. |
