Lucy Carpenter

    Graveside services for Lucy Carpenter, 75, 520 W. Homedale, who died Saturday, Oct. 30, at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilder Cemetery by the Rev. Ralph Cornwell of the Baptist Church in Boise, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale.  Friends may meet at the cemetery.
     She was born
Jan. 26, 1907, at Laverne, Okla., a daughter of Uriah and Mary Jane Martin Wells.  She was reared and educated in Oklahoma and Kansas.  She married Leslie Carpenter on Sept. 5, 1926 in Minnola, Kan., and the couple made their home there until moving to Idaho in 1935.
     She worked at Morfitt Stores Inc. in Wilder and later at Two Boys Food Store in Homedale.  They have lived at their present home in Homedale for the last 10 years.  She was a member of the Homedale Christian Church.
     She is survived by her husband Leslie of Homedale; two daughters, Leslie Werner of Homedale and Edith Thamert of Elgin, Ore,; a brother, Walter Sinclair of Long Island, New York, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Benjamin Franklin Sinclair; a daughter Margie; a son, Walter, four brothers and two sisters.

     Memorials may be given to the Idaho Youth Ranch in Rupert or the American Heart association.
