Sudden Attacks Halt
Careers of John Conley
and Rodney Tewell

Shortly after midnight this morning, Rodney R. Tewell, local manager for the Schramm-Johnson Drug company, collapsed at his home.  He, too, was a victim of a heart attack.
Tewell, leaving the store Tuesday evening with Mrs. Tewell after the latter returned from the swimming meet at Memorial park, suffered the first of two attacks while walking home.  He stopped at Memorial park hospital, called Dr. C. M. Kaley and then continued to his home.  Dr. Kaley found him apparently over the attack, administered apalliatives and left.  Shortly after midnight, Tewell was hit by a second attack.  Suffering from severe chest pains, he walked the floor.
"Rod, what shall we do?" Mrs. Tewell asked him.
     I don't know." Tewell said.
Those were his last words.  He plunged forward onto the floor, dead.
Tewell, who was born at Elwood, Neb., April 2, 1890 has been a resident of Idaho since 1916.  From 1916 until 1923 he was in the drug business at Weiser.  He came to Caldwell in 1923 and became associated with the Harmon drug company until the concern sold out and since that time he has managed the Schramm-Johnson company here.
Surviving Tewell are his wife, Mrs. Grace Tewell, two sons, James and Lloyd; a daughter, Mildred, three brothers, J. L. Tewell of Sidney, Neb., H. C. Tewell of Beatrice, Neb., and A. M. Tewell of Caldwell; and three sisters, Miss Jessie Tewell of Holdridge, Neb., Mrs. M. R. Hawker of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Harry Hawker of Denver, Colo.
The body is now at the Peckham chapel pending funeral arrangements.
