The Oregon
Trail only passed through a small bit of southern Bingham County. It went
through what is now the Fort Hall Reservation belonging to the Shoshone-Bannock
tribes. The original site of old Fort Hall is actually over the line in
Bannock County. You need permission from the Sho-ban to visit it. There
is a replica in Pocatello.
