Lookup Volunteers
If you have Bureau County resources you would be willing to do brief lookups for other researchers in, please email us with the title of the publication and any other information regarding it you feel is important.

Criteria for Lookup Requests

  •     Please specify BY TITLE which resource you are requesting a lookup in.
  •     Restrict your request to one or two surnames at a time, such as a maiden or married name.

  •        Don't ask for "all the Jones".  Common surnames require that you have a first name for a lookup.
  •     Provide enough information for the volunteers to work with.
  •     Please be patient--it may take a while for the volunteers to get to your request. If you do not

  •       receive a reply after thirty days, please email this site, or if a second volunteer is listed for the
          same book, try them.
  •     If you have a large number of people to look up in one book, you should invest in  your own copy

  •        (if available for current sale). We do not wish to impose on either the lookup volunteers or the groups
who count on book sales for thier operating revenue.
  •     Volunteers don't own personal copiers...self explanitory. If a volunteer wishes to provide copies,

  •        they may do their own descretion as long as it does not violate copyright law.
  •     Please be advised that in responding to your request, volunteers have been directed to comply

  •       with U. S. copyright laws. You are welcome to review the USGenWeb copyright policy statement
          applying to all lookups.
