On the 19th of April 1894, near Ohio, Bureau Co., Ill., Alma E. daughter of Jacob and Catharine Albrecht, of diphtheria, aged 1 y., 3m. Buried on the 21st in the Red Oak graveyard. Funeral services by Joseph Buercky in German, and Pre. Loering in English. J.B.



ALBRECHT, Ethel Mae
(Mennonite) Gospel Herald - Volume XLV , Number 51 - December 16, 1952

Ethel Mae Albrecht was born May 30, 1910, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Albrecht, of Tiskilwa, Ill. After a short illness she died Sept. 20, 1952, at the St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley, Ill; aged 42 y. 3 m. 21 d. Her mother and infant brother preceded her in death. She is survived by her father and one brother (Robert, Tiskilwa, Ill.).

In her early youth she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized and received into the Willow Springs Church, Tiskilwa, Ill. As she grew in her Christian life she became more and more concerned about witnessing for the Lord as well as giving of material aid to the needy. She helped in the activities of the Sunday school and Summer Bible School.

Her last effort to give the message of God's Word to people was the request that no floral display be made at her funeral but that the money be used to purchase Scriptures for the people in Japan.

Funeral services were held at the Willow Springs Church in charge of C. Warren Long, with burial in the church cemetery.



ALBRECHT, Levi O.

Levi O Albrecht, son of the late Christian and Fannie (Staker) Albrecht, was born Nov. 20, 1885, at Tiskilwa,
Ill.; died May 7, 1958, at Morton, Ill.; aged 72 y. 5 m. 18d.

On Jan. 8, 1914, he was married to Lydia Roth of Morton, Ill., who survives him. Other survivors are 3 sons (Howard, Marion, and Milo, all of Morton, Ill.), one brother (Alvin, Morton, Ill.), 2 sisters (Lena, Tiskilwa, Ill.; and Mrs. Elmer Hartzler, Princeton, Ill.), 6 grandchildren

Early in life he became a Christian and united with the Mennonite Church. The most of his active life was spent
serving the church as superintendent and teacher in the Sunday School.
Funeral services were held at the Morton Church, May 9, in charge of Kenneth Good and Emanuel Rocke. Burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.



ANDERSON, A. Joseph

A. Joseph Anderson of Princeton dies

A. Joseph Anderson, a resident of Princeton community since 1869, passed away Monday April 13, aged 90 years 4 months and 19 days.

Mr. Anderson was born in Oreryd's parish, Jonkoping's diocese, Sweden, and came directly to Princeton in 1869. He farmed until he retired and built a home in Fairview. He married Miss Christina Peterson March 1, 1873. She died ten years ago. Six children were born to the family of which five are surviving. One child, a boy, died in 1890.

The survivors are:  P. Albert, Waverly, Neb.; Jenny, now Mrs. John A. Nelson, Princeton; Ida A., now Mrs. G. L. Peterson of Marquette, Neb.; A. Wilhelmina, now Mrs. Alfred Johnson of Wyanet, and Verna E., now Mrs. H. Jacobson, Osceola, Neb.  There are 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, all living.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson united with the local Mission Covenant church in 1883.  Mr. Anderson served on the church board in various capacities for many years and was a good and faithful steward. He was at his death one of the last of the sturdy stock of men who worked and sacrificed in order to see the church prosper. There was no wavering of faith there.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon with a brief service at the house, 1006 West Central Avenue, at 2 o'clock, and at the Mission church at 2:30. Burial will be at Oakland.  Mr. Anderson had been sick since last Thanksgiving.



ANDERSON, Christine

Mrs. Christine Anderson was born November 14, 1846, in Smaland, Sweden. She came to American in June 1871, and was married to Joseph Anderson March 1, 1873.  To this union were born 6 children, one of whom preceded the mother in death.

Mrs. Anderson passed away Friday morning, March 12, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 25 days. She leaves the husband and five children as follows: Mrs. Jennie Nelson, Princeton; Albert Anderson of Marquette, Nebr.; Mrs. Ida Peterson of Marquette, Nebr.; Mrs. Minnie Johnson of Wyanet; and Miss Verna at home. She is also survived by three brothers and twenty-four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held from the home on West Central Avenue Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and from the Mission Church at 2:30.  A packed church gave testimony of the fifty years of faithful membership she had held in the church.

The services were in charge of Rev. Arthur M. Bowman and Rev. M. J. Eggan spoke briefly.

A quartette composed of Mabel Erickson, Esther M. Swanson, Paul Nelson, and Lantine Carlson sang two beautiful numbers.

The large and beautiful floral offering gave evidence of the high esteem in which Mrs. Anderson was held by her large circle of friends. The intermentwas in Oakland Cemetery.
