A Library Database - by the members of CAGG-NI

The purpose behind this project is to save the time and costs of unnecessary interlibrary loans by cataloging nearby collections. The scope is, therefore, limited to facilities that can be visited on a day trip - no overnight stays.

The data will continue to evolve over time as people contribute what they know or find out about the facilities they visit. As such, these pages are very much a work in progress. They are not intended to represent the entire holdings of the institution, nor is it our intent to catalog every item in the collections.

The information here exists on two different types of pages. Each library or archive has an individual page giving general information about the facility along with an list of sources that may be researched there - catagorized by type. Visit these pages to learn more about the place before making a visit. Links to these individual pages can be found below.

Additionally, there is a Place Index. From this index, you can see which facilities have the sources you need for a particular locality. For instance, if your family came from Kentucky, you can learn which places in our area have census films for Kentucky. Please note, however, while the National Archives has census films for Kentucky, you will not find them listed under the state. Those institutions that have the entire country will be listed only under ENTIRE US, not under each individual state, so check both places.
