Insane Asylum, Jacksonville, Illinois
Cass County Patients

It must be remembered that although the name of the institution was rather crudely put, many of the patients suffered from epilepsy, depression, post partum syndrome or some treatable ailment and were not insane. The name was later changed to Jacksonville State Hospital and is no longer in business as such - source, The Cass County Historian, March 2001, source - Beardstown Evening Star, January 28, 1897
