June Kleinschmidt, 1928-2008, Arenzville
   June Kleinschmidt, 79, of Arenzville, died Thursday morning, March 6, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born June 20, 1928, in Beardstown, the daughter of Fred and Lorna Korsmeyer Carls. She married Lorenz Kleinschmidt on Jan. 4, 1948, in Arenzville, and he survives.
   She is also survived by one son, Jim (wife, Jo) of Beardstown; one daughter, Karen (husband, Jim) Lovekamp of Martinez, Ga.; six grandchildren, Tara Swan of Raleigh, N.C., Josh (wife, Mary Hampton) Lovekamp of Flagstaff, Ariz., Joe (wife, Susie) Lovekamp of Macon, Ga., Jenny and Jamie Kleinschmidt (fiance', Brad Hobrock), both of Beardstown, and Julie Kleinschmidt (fiance', Matthew Meyer) of Peoria; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris (deceased husband, Rev. George) Ring of Des Moines, Iowa; and one brother, Roland (wife, Jody) Carls of Arenzville. She was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta (surviving husband, Ray of Jacksonville) Staake.
   Mrs. Kleinschmidt was a homemaker. She was baptized July 1, 1928 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown and was confirmed March 29, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, where she served as an associate member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
   Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Arenzville. The family will meet with friends from 3-6 p.. Sunday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Elevator Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church for Bethesda Foundation for Children.    George Frederick Kleinsteiber was born in Koln Saxony, Germany June 10, 1840. He married October 4, 1864, in Cass County, to Mary Maria Rahe. He died February 25, 1923 in Winfield, Kansas. His wife died there February 13, 1923. They had a son, Louis Howard Kleinsteiber, born October 18, 1876 in Beardstown, died November 12, 1934

Lois Kloker, 1928-2007, Beardstown
Lois Ellen Kuhn Kloker, 78, of Beardstown, died Monday evening, Feb. 12, 2007, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
   She was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Beardstown, the daughter of William L. and Alice Hinderer Kuhn. She married Eward F. Kloker on June 11, 1950, at the First United Methodist Church in Beardstown, and he survives.
   She is also survived by one daughter, Nancy E. (husband, David) Sorensen of Franklin, Wis.; one son, Robert E. (wife, Paula) of Arenzville; four grandchildren, Christopher (wife, Shannan) Kloker of Arenzville, Faith Kloker of Springfield, Nichole Sorensen (husband, Eric) Mutchie of Washington D.C., and Danielle Sorensen of Franklin, Wis.; two great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Kuhn (surviving wife, Katherine of Beardstown); and one nephew.
   Mrs. Kloker graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1946. She was a full-time wife and mother. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Beardstown. She loved to sing in church and she enjoyed gardening and baking for her family.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at First Methodist Church in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends two hours prior to services Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Beardstown or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. Roberta Kloker, 1917-2008, Beardstown
   Roberta Marie Savage Broeker Kloker, 90, of Beardstown, died early Wednesday morning March 12, 2008, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
   She was born April 30, 1917, in Bluff Springs, the daughter of Oscar A. and Pearl McGovern Savage. She married Samuel Reller in 1946, and he preceded her in death. She later married Donald Kloker on May 14, 1980, and he survives.
   She is also survived by one daughter, Judith Ann (husband, Sherman) Coultas of Astoria; three stepchildren, Norman Kloker of Rushville, Kevin Kloker of Palatine and Marsha Kloker of Eagle, Colo.; four grandchildren, Brett (wife, Kelly) McCombs of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Jaime (husband, Jaun) Corral of Beardstown, Samuel McCombs of Vermont, Ill., and Angie McCombs (finance', Joe Fisher) of Astoria; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rozella Sipes of Beardstown. She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel George Broeker; and one brother, Ralph Savage.
   Mrs. Kloker graduated from Beardstown High School in 1935 where she participated in the orchestra. Upon graduation, she worked in Chicago and then for Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C., for five years. She joined the U.S. Army in 1942, serving in Ruston, La., and Fort Wayne, Ind., and received her Lieutenants Commission in 1944. She graduated from Lincoln Land Community College in 1974 and from the University of Illinois in Springfield in 1977. She served as Cass County Probation Officer for several years and also worked for the Illinois State Superintendent of Schools. She then worked for Central Illinois Public Service in Beardstown and retired as secretary to the senior vice president of CIPS in Springfield. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown where she was a member of the church choir for several years and also served as an organist. She was active in Beardstown and Springfield Women's Clubs and Business Professional Women Clubs. She enjoyed playing bass cello, piano and organ. She enjoyed traveling extensively both in the U.S. and abroad and playing cards.
   Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beardstown, with burial at Beardstown City Cemetery. Clarice "Cindy" Koehne - 1939-2003 Ashland
   Clarice "Cindy" Koehne, 63 years, of Springfield, and formerly of rural Ashland, IL died Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
   She was born October 7, 1939 in Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Paul F. and Margaret Klever Marling. She married Glenn L. Koehne Sr. March 28, 1959, in Chandlerville, and he survives.
   She is also survived by three sons, Glenn Jr. of Ashland, Paul Allen of Springfield, and Frank of Ashland; one daughter, Lisa Remine of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; one sister, Laura Inga of Staten Island, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Terri Lee Koehne in infancy.
   Mrs. Koehne was a homemaker and loved to travel. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville, with burial at Chandlerville Cemetery. Betty L. Krohe, 1922-2008, Arenzville
   Betty L. Krohe, 85, of Arenzville, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 5, 2008, at the Jacksonville Convalescent Center in Jacksonville.
   She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of John and Katherine Schnitker Turley. She married Floyd C. Krohe on Aug. 21, 1943, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown, and he preceded in death on June 30, 1994.
   She is survived by two sons, Richard Krohe (wife, Maxine) of Virginia and Rev. Wayne Krohe (wife, Ella Marie) of Adrian, Minn.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Gale (surviving wife, Sharon of Virginia) and Roland L. Krohe (surviving wife, Sandi Fouts [husband, Dale] of Chapin).
   Mrs. Krohe was a graduate of Arenzville High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arenzville.
   Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia.    Dorothy L. Krohe, 87, a former Beardstown resident, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at her residence in Jacksonville.
   She was born April 28, 1921, in Tescott, KS, the daughter of George and Lena Dupes Wilson. She married Norman G.E. Krohe on Dec. 22, 1946, in Beardstown, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1992.
   She is survived by four sons, Edward (Beth) Krohe of Beardstown, Merl (Thelma) Krohe of Havana, Marvin Krohe of Jacksonville and Dennis (Joyce) Krohe of Beardstown; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Werth of Salina, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Jean Krohe Wilkinson; two brothers, George and Ora Wilson; and one sister, Amy Young.
   Dorothy worked many years at Capitol Records in Jacksonville, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and had been active with Jacksonville Area Center for Independent Living (JACIL). She enjoyed craftwork, gardening and canning, and she loved to bake cookies.

Lois C. Krohe 1938-2002
   Lois C. Krohe, 64, of Beardstown died Monday morning, December 2, 2002, at Heritage Manor East in Beardstown.
   She was born July 11, 1938, in Peoria, the daughter of Robert and Eva Haanpaa Gouran. She married Bud Krohe Dec. 23, 1981, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and he survives in Beardstown.
   She is also survived by one son, Mark (wife, Marie) Connor of Beardstown; one daughter, Jeanette Krohe (companion, Homer Lopez) of Beardstown; five grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Bechard of Beardstown, Janice Seelye of Peoria, and Mary (husband, Dennis) Draksler of East Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Bill Gouran.
   Mrs. Krohe graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria in the class of 1956 and from Liberty Beauty College in Peoria. She had been self-employed as a beautician for many years and recently served as a caregiver in Beardstown and Arenzville.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Black Oak Church south of Beardstown, with burial at St. Alexius Catholic Cemetery in Beardstown. The family will meet friends from noon until time of services Wednesday at the church. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Natalie Kae Krohe, Chandlerville
   Natalie Kae Krohe, 7, of rural Chandlerville, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2006, at her residence.
   She was born Sept. 15, 1999, in Springfield, the daughter of David Lee and Heather Dae Rich Krohe.
   She is survived by her mother of Chandlerville; her father of Beardstown; one sister, Halie; grandparents Debbie and Randy Lane of Chandlerville and Dick and Frances Krohe of Beardstown; great-grandparents, Evelyn and Junior Rich of Bath and John Ogden of Chandlerville; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Barb Ogden; and an aunt.
   Natalie was in Mrs. Murphy’s first grade class in Havana where she served as an inspiration to her teachers and fellow students. She loved all of the kids in her school and they all loved her.
   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church near Chandlerville, with burial at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Oliver Krohe, 1922-2007, Beardstown
   Oliver Andrew Krohe, 84, of Beardstown, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 2, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
   He was born March 4, 1922, in Cass County, the son of Felix and Ida M. Hendricker Krohe. He married Jewel E. "Bettie" Hamblin on Aug. 12, 1943, in Corvallis, Ore., and she survives.
   He is also survived by nine children, David (wife, Lona) of Vermont, Janet (husband, Sam) Spears, Carol (husband, Charles) Wubker, Allen (wife, Jackie), Ann (husband, Tom) Bell, Audrey Perry and Ken (wife, Kelley), all of Beardstown, Myles (wife, Deb) of Virginia and Dottie (husband, Paul) Puckel of Springfield; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-granchildren; one brother, Elmer (wfie, Onea) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Pam Krohe; three brothers, Arthur, Philip and Paul; and three sisters, Henrietta Carls, Marie Root and Dorothy Williams.
   Mr. Krohe was a lifelong Cass County farmer and also a bus driver for both the Beardstown School District and Cass County Human Resources. He also worked as a welder for Trinity Steel in Beardstown. He graduated from Beardstown High School with the Class of 1939. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army where he received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
   Mr. Krohe was a member of the Beardstown Church of the Nazarene and for over 75 years was a member of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene. His greatest joys were his church and spending time with his family.
   Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Beardstown Church of the Nazarene, with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Beardstown, where military services will be conducted. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Friends may also call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.    Died March 21, of rheumatism of the heart, Mrs. Sophia Krohe, age 73. She was born in Hanover, Germany in 1816. Her parents died in Cass County. She came with her husband to this country in 1834, they lived three years in Cincinnati, Ohio, coming here in 1837. Her husband, Fred, died eight years ago. They were parents of six children, four survive, Mrs. Mary Boeme and Mrs. Rose Schneider, of Omaha, Nebraska, Henry Krohe and Fred Krohe, Jr. of here. (Her maiden name may have been Haveluft.)

Frederick C. 'Fritz' Krumwiede, 1913, 2006, Beardstown
   Frederick C. "Fritz" Krumwiede, 93, of Beardstown, and formerly of the Paxton-Buckley area, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 5, 2006, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
   He was born Oct. 18, 1913, in rural Buckley, the son of Henry C. and Minnie Sprehe Krumwiede. He married Marie A. Eshleman on Dec. 29, 1935, in Buckley, and she preceded him in death Aug. 28, 1994.
   He is survived by one son, Erwin (wife, Shirley) of Beardstown; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
   Mr. Krumwiede attended St. John's Lutheran School. He farmed in the Buckley-Paxton area more than 40 years and worked at the DelRey Farmers Grain Elevator 15 years. He moved to Paxton in 1953 where he lived for 24 years, then moved to DelRey for 18 years, back to Buckley in 1995 and to Beardstown in 2002 to be near his son and family. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley, where he sang in the men's choir. He also served on the finance committee and was elder of the church. He loved the Lutheran Church and enjoyed all the activities, especially the sports programs of St. John's and Christ Lutheran Church at Buckley. He also was a great fan of the Buckley Dutchmasters and Chicago Cubs. Upon moving to Beardstown, he immediately became very involved with the Tiger Athletics as well as watching his grandson coach at Carrollton, and his great-grandsons play baseball and basketball. He enjoyed playing cards but his greatest love was his Lord, family and friends.
   Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley, with burial at St. John's Cemetery in Buckley. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ford-Baier Funeral Home in Buckley. Friends may also call one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Manor South Chapel in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church and School, Christ Lutheran High School of Buckley, Heritage Manor South/Evergreen Place Activity Fund, St. John's Lutheran Church of Beardstown, Tiger Athletic Club of Beardstown, or a charity of the donor's choice.
