Hubert Lidicker, 1916-2007, Ashland
Hubert Lidicker, 91, of Ashland, died Wednesday afternoon, April 25, 2007, at the Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
He was born March 9, 1916, in Milwaukee, the son of John and Johanna Evans Lidicker. He married Virginia L. Wilson on June 12, 1948 in Evanston, and she preceded in death January 31, 2004.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Werner of Ashland; three grandchildren, Rachel, Robert and Rebecca Werner, all of Ashland; a brother, John of Chicago; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Logue.
Mr. Lidicker was a graduate of the University of Illinois and was employed many years as an engineer with A.M. International of Chicago. A builder of model aircraft and sailboats, he enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan and ballroom dancing in the Chicago area. During the Depression, he hitchhiked across the continental United States.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Massie-Buchanan Funeral Home in Ashland. There will be no visitation. Private interment will be held later at the Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oak Brook Terrace. Memorial are suggested to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or Ashland Bread of Love. John E. Lidicker, 1923-2007, Virginia
John Evan "Jim" Lidicker, 84 years, of Virginia, and formerly of Villa Park, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born April 22, 1923 in Highland Park, the son of John J. And Johanna H. Evans Lidicker.
He is survived by three nieces, Susan Werner of Ashland, Nancy Anderson of Lombard, and Leslie Logue of Coos Bay, Ore.; two great nieces; and three great nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Hubert; and one sister, Ruth Logue.
A descendant of German and Welsh immigrants, Mr. Lidicker grew up and was educated in the Chicago suburbs. He was fascinated with airplanes and took flying lessons as a young man. He later served with the U.S. Army Air Force as a pilot during WW II, and his plane was downed over Germany. He survived the crash and was saved and sheltered by German civilians, but the injuries sustained caused months of hospital confinement and created a lifelong partial disability. He attended school on the GI Bill and opened a photography studio on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, where he specialized in advertising and magazine photography for several years. He later was employed as a draftsman.
A trumpet player in his youth, Mr. Lidicker had a special love of music in many genres, with his favorite artist being Roy Orbison. He also enjoyed movies, especially those featuring Clark Gable, ballroom dancing and trips with his senior friends. He was known for his cheerful attitude and his sense of humor.

Hazel Lindahl, 1907-2007, Beardstown
Hazel Lindahl, 99, of Beardstown, died Thursday morning, March 29, 2007, at Sangamon Care Center in Springfield.
She was born April 16, 1907, in Beardstown, the daughter of A.F. and Hattie M. Hess Blank. She married Harry A. Lindahl in 1942, in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1967.
She is survived by three nieces, Christine Henderson of Springfield, Janet Gaines of Albuquerque, N.M., and Susan Madden of Michigan; and two nephews, James Howe of Marietta, Ga., and John Lindahl of Michigan. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Blank, Gladys Henderson and Jeanne Howe.
In 1929, Mrs. Lindahl graduated from Lutheran Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago. For many years she did private duty nursing and worked for Cook County Hospital. After World War II, she and her husband moved to the country in Fulton County to breed dogs. There she did public health nursing and worked in the hospital laboratory. After her husband's death, she returned to Beardstown and semi-retired. She did part-time school nursing, worked in the public library and was involved in community and volunteer work. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Cass County Home Extension, American Legion Auxiliary, and several other local organizations.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Beardstown. Family will meet with friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. LINKER, Beverly Ann - July 12 1937 - August 18, 2008
Beverly Ann Linker, 71, of Jacksonville died Monday afternoon, August 18, 2008 at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1937 in Panther Creek Township the daughter of Sylvan W. and Pauline Gebhardt Martin.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth C. Linker; 3 children, Debbie (husband, Jim) Beavers and Kathy Nichols both of Jacksonville; one son, Alan Wilson of Belleville; 4 granddaughters, Amber (husband, Chris) Ashmore, Jessi and Dakota Beavers and Breann Nichols all of Jacksonville; one great-grandson, Wyatt Ashmore; one brother, Don (deceased wife, Mary Jean) Martin of Winamac, IN; one sister, Carolyn (husband, Delbert) Lackscheide of Franklin and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gary (surviving wife, Janet of Virginia) Martin and one sister, Sharon (surviving husband, Neil of Stanberry, MO) Taylor.
Beverly was recently retired from AC Humko in Jacksonville after nearly 34 years of work. She loved country music, shopping for her grandchildren, spending time in her flower garden and was an avid collector of many items. She enjoyed attending the many activities her granddaughters participated in. She cherished spending time with her husband, children, granddaughters, and especially her great grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2008 at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with the family to meet friends from 4-7. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Bethany Place. Doris Ann Lippert, 72, of Springfield, and formerly of Arenzville, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at her residence.
She was born June 20, 1934, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Dwight Sr. and Edna Mae Howell Chamberlain. She married Gordon Lippert on Nov. 21, 1970, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1976.
She is survived by one son, Rick (wife, Joyce) Wheeler of Springfield; four grandsons, Rick, Jr. (wife, Chrissie), Troy, Jeremy, and Josh, all of Springfield; two great-granddaughters; one sister, Garnet (husband, Harold "Cookie") Cook of Jacksonville; and one brother, Bill Weyl of Quincy. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dwight Chamberlain, Jr., and one sister, LaWanda Chamberlain.
Mrs. Lippert worked at Capps Clothing Factory in Jacksonville for over 20 years. When the factory closed, she became a full-time homemaker. She was an exceptional bowler and an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. A surprise 70th birthday celebration was held for her at Pasta House in Springfield two years ago. It was probably the happiest she had been in years. All her dear friends and relatives were there.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Arenzville North Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

Francis G. Little 1922-2006 - Virginia
Francis G. Little, 83, of Virginia, died Monday morning, June 19, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Scott County, the son of Leonard and Nita Inez Gerald Little. He married Audrey Phyllis Bergthold, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Roberta "Robin" (husband, Randy) Brown of Virginia and Karen Little (husband, Tim Roberts) of Fort Davis, Texas; three sons, David (wife, Cindy) of Newton, Pa., Steven (wife, Darlene) of Beardstown and Roger (fiancee, Cynthia Cantieri) of Waukegan; seven grandchildren, Ian and Rachel Little of Newton, Pa., Carly (husband, Dan) Sirian of Rockford, Kristi (husband, Joseph) Edwards of Virginia, Shane Little of Beardstown, Jeremy Brown of Oak Park and Jeffrey Brown of Virginia; three sisters, Virginia Schmidt of Moline, June Lewis of South Jacksonville and Jean (husband, John) Boehner of Fort Myer, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Little was a graduate of Bluffs High School and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in many varied jobs prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Virginia United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 2910 of Bloomington. He enjoyed supporting his beloved Chicago Cubs and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Virginia United Methodist Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia. The family will meet friends at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services. Memorials are suggested to Virginia Bread of Love Program or Chandlerville-Ashland-Virginia EMTs.
