Marjorie L. Wooldridge - 1927-2003 - Ashland
Marjorie L. Wooldridge, 76, of Ashland, died Monday evening, July 14, 2003, at her residence.
She was born April 11, 1927, in Beardstown, the daughter of Carl B. and Lula Dunham Ring. She married Carl Henry Wooldridge in August of 1947 in Springfield, and he preceded in death on May 27, 1992.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy (husband, Junior) Guffey of Ashland; two grandchildren, Christina Guffey-Joy (husband, Andy) of Springfield and Jeffrey Guffey of Parkville, Mo.; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl F. Ring and Harold Ring, both of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jess Ring.
Mrs. Wooldridge was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Ashland Church of Christ.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the Ashland Church of Christ in Ashland. Carl Earl Workman, 1917-2007, Chandlerville
Carl Ear Workman, 89, of Chandlerville, died early Monday morning, Feb. 26, 2007, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia.
He was born Dec. 13, 1917, in Chandlerville, the son of Ernest and Maude Geuder Workman. He married Wanda Sandidge on March 31, 1951, at the Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death March 1, 2003.
He is survived by two sisters, Frieda Davidsmeyer of Eldon, Mo., and Edna (husband, Floyd) Anderson of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by five brothers, two in infancy and Harold, Herbert and Donald; and one sister, Lula.
Mr. Workman was a graduate of Chandlerville High School. He served in the U.S. Army (Tank Division) during World War II. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Virginia, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. He kept busy in his woodworking shop making furniture and small items and also sharpening saws. He was a farmer all of his life.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home in Chandlerville, with burial at Chandlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Chandlerville Legion Post or Woodhaven Hospice of Jacksonville. Wanda S. Workman, 1918-2003, Chandlerville
Wanda Alvera Sandidge Workman, 84, of Chandlerville, died Saturday evening, March 1, 2003, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.
She was born April 2, 1918, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of John T. and Delta Sisson Sandidge. She married Carl Workman March 31, 1951 at the Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville, and he survives.
She is also survived by two nephews, David (wife, Linda) Sandidge of Chandlerville and John (wife, Ann) Kennedy of Monmouth; and two nieces, Elaine (husband, Larry) Bolt of Springfield and Barbara (husband, Ed) Johnson of Virginia. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul (surviving wife, Eleanor of Chandlerville) Sandidge and Ralph Kennedy; and one sister, Fay Taylor.
Mrs. Workman was a retired hair stylist and farm wife. She began playing the piano at 12 years old and has served as an organist and pianist for her church many years in addition to providing music at numerous weddings and funerals. She was a charter member of the Faith Baptist Church in Virginia and has served many years as a Sunday school teacher. She was a 1937 graduate of Chandlerville High School. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lintner-Buchanan Funeral Home in Chandlerville, with burial at Chandlerville Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Chandlerville Cemetery or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. Ricky Lee Wubker, 1947-2008
Ricky Lee Wubker, 61, of Frederick, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 2008, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Jan. 4, 1947, in Beardstown, the son of Edward B. and Virginia Thompson Wubker.
He is survived by his mother of Frederick; four sisters, Carole (husband, Richard) Dawson and Dianne Estes, both of Beardstown, Suzanne Canada of Ripley and Sandi (husband, Butch) Tritsch of Frederick; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Wubker graduated from Beardstown High School in 1965 and then entered the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam in the 4th Infantry. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown, Rushville American Legion and Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 in Beardstown. He was previously employed by Oscar Mayer and Pat's Market in Beardstown, the City of Beardstown and Arthur Ring and Sons in Rushville.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown, with burial at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beardstown. The family will meet from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials are suggested to Guthrie-Pierce VFW Post 1239 in Beardstown.
