CATLIN PREPARES SERMON WILL BE PREACHED BY (COMMERCIAL-NEWS SPECIAL) CATLIN, Ill., May 9.--The following is the arrangement for the Memorial sermon and Decoration day in Catlin. Chairman--S. A. McGregor. Marshal--G. A. Olmstead. Chaplain--Rev. M. P. Wilkin. Orator--Rev. J. R. Reasoner of Champaign. The sermon will be preached on Sunday, May 28, at the Presbyterian church by Rev. J. F. Morphis. The committee on making wreaths and gathering and distributing flowers is A. A. Harley, chairman; Lilie Parker, Bertha Stansbury, Inez Gavin, Ethel Cook, Sallie Parker, Edna and Clara Hawkins and Mae Wolf--all soldiers' daughters--and Whit Taylor, Elmo Kidd, Cash Frazier, Art Wolf, Clino Olmstead, Bob Markwell and Glen Balsinger. Color Bearer--J. Parker. Committee on Music--F. Brewer, G. W. Tilton and Elsie McGregor. Committee to visit Pate Cemetery--G. W. Wolf and A. Stansbury. Committee to visit Butler Cemetery--W. Hawkins and C. C. Cannon. Exercises at the opera house will begin at 2 o'clock. After the close, the procession in carriages will go to Jones cemetery and then to Oakridge led by the band. The committee to solicit funds is composed of A. R. McGregor, G. S. Fleming, B. Taylor, F. Carrigan, J. Shelton, Ed Jones, F. Brewer, Al Dickinson, Dr. Colyer and W. S. Douglas. |
