Sampson Bixby was a resident of Barre, Worcester Co, Ma.
He served as a private at Rhode Island Alarm in 1776, enlisted in 1778 under Col. Nathaniel Wade, Rhode Island Regiment.
His offical record given in the Masschussetts complilation of the Revolutionary Rolls is as follows:
Bixbe, Samson, Barre, Captain Benjamin Nye's company, Col. Nathan Sparhawk's regiment.
Enlisted Aug 1777 discharged 25 Aug 1777 service 10 days.
Marched to re-enforce the army at
Bennington, VT under command of Gen Stark.
