TOWNSHIP ELECTIONS-1882

The elections in the several townships of this county, held on Tuesday last,
passed off quietly, though in most precincts the contests were hot and were
fought desperately.   Politics cut but a little figure in the races and was
raised in but few of the townships, the opposition contending for or against
some local issue.
In Auburn Township the question was upon the division of it, and from the
overwhelming majority given Hurst, who opposed it, it is plainly evident
that the people are satisfied with things remaining as they are.
The Board of Supervisors will now stand, 9 Democrats, 5 Republicans and
one lost child, Bill Harris, of York.
Below we give the results of the various townships:
