WALKERS
Abraham WALKER md to Rhoda (Rhody) BAUCHAMP. Know children:
Simeon,
William and Hope. After Abraham died about 1812 Rhoda married
Henry
SHARP.
Also looking for Ephraim WALKER and Mary BEAUCHAMP. Some how
related to
Abraham. Ephraim came St Clair (now Clinton) Co between 1814
and 1816.
The came from Shiloh ot Pleasant Ridge (referred to as The
Ridge) about
1815/16. A John Martin led the group.
Abraham proboably died in Shiloh. Ephraim later moved to MS.
The Walker boys, Simeon and William were Methodist ministers
later in
life. Simeon born abt 1800, William about 1797.
Does anyone have any information on the above WALKERs or any
information
on Pleasant Ridge settlement

researching the surnames of KENNEDY and McGAFFIGAN in Clinton
Co. IL
prior to 1900? My g.g.grandfather was Jesse O. KENNEDY b. 1821
Franklin
Twp., Chester Co., PA, d. 1906 West Chester Co., PA. His
obituary stated
that after the Civil War and before 1870 he moved
to Carlyle, Clinton Co., IL where he became a successful
businessman. I
think some of his children may have traveled with him to Clinton
Co., IL,
i.e. his son George KENNEDY b.ca. 1847 Chester Co., PA, and
daughter
Ella, b.ca. 1847 Chester Co,. PA, since both of their names
appeared in his obit as being residents of St. Louis, MO, which
is only
about 40 miles from Carlyle. Also it is known that Ella married
a Dr.
McGAFFIGAN, and the name of Dr. McGAFFIGAN appeared in a list of
businessmen in the book, HISTORY OF MARION AND CLINTON COUNTIES,
IL,
published in 1881. I didn't find Jesse O. KENNEDY's name but the
name of
David KENNEDY appeared in this list of businessmen as a stock
dealer and
shipper. It is known from Jesse's obit that he was one of seven
children, and it's possible this David KENNEDY may have been one
of his brothers. Would like to know more about these families.
