Hello, I am looking for marriage or other information on: my paternal great grandmother Marie Ernestine Müller born in Chicago 3/12/1867 to Johannes & Friedericke Marggraf Mueller. These died in the early 1900's in Riverdale. I have a family birth record for the entire family, including deceiased children. my paternal great grandfather, Leopold Carl Hadorn, born in 1859 in Switzerland. He was a trained engraver and worked for Marshall Fields for a time. I am unable to locate the exact place of his birth, which I am hoping will be on his marriage certificate. He was a naturalized citizen, which likely happened in Cook County around 1880 or so 1890.

I am trying to find out where my great-great grandfather and my great-great-great grandfather are buried. 1880 census records show my great-great grandfather living in Cook County, Illinois on "twenty nine street". (Page 55, enumeration dist. 21, June 1880) His name was Alphens (Alpheus) Lincoln but was listed in this census as Alfred with the correct wife (Emma) and children. My great-grandfather was William Harvey Lincoln and as a young man worked as secretary to the vice- president of the C. B. & Q. railroad in Chicago. After his marriage, William Harvey Lincoln moved to Columbus, Indiana but I can find no record of his family following him, that is why I believe they may have died in the Chicago area. Looking for information on John Riley and Mary Ida (or Ada) McIntyre, parents of Clayton Riley, born 1902 or 1903, in Chicago, possibly on Bloomingdale Avenue. She was from Ohio; he from Ireland. They may have died in the Iroquois Theater fire, December 30, 1903. They may have been living in Dayton, Ohio, in 1900. From the 1900 census, if I have the right John and Ada, she had three children living, so McIntyre may have been her married name. After their death, my father was raised by the "babysitters", who may have been named Coffield.

MARCHESE, PRIVAK, TUENKA posted by Sylvie Karlsda on Sunday, May 11, 1997

Tuenka, Julia and Anna, and Marchese, Joseph, Joseph (Jr.), Helen, and Jose (Josephine?) Can you tell me about these people, either in Croatia or Italy or in the U.S.? (I hope I have the name Tuenka right--it was nearly impossible to read on the Census.) Joseph Marchese was born about 1873 in Italy; Anna Tuenka (and I'm guessing her maiden name was the same as her sister's) was born either in 1875 or 1879 (1910 and 1920 census disagree) in Austrian Croatia. They married about 1900, probably in Croatia, as they had two children there-- Joseph, born 1901, and Helen, born about 1905. Apparently Joseph Sr. immigrated to the U.S. first, where he was listed as a mason; then Anna; then the two children with Anna's sister Julia Tuenka (born in Croatia about 1889). Julia was working as a servant with the Privak family. They were living at 248 Alexander Street, Tract D2, in Cook Co. in 1910. A third daughter was born to the couple about 1908 in IL--Jose (Josie for Josephine?), but Jose isn't with her mother on the 1920 census, and Anna is reported as widowed. I wonder what happened. Did Joseph die or take off? Anna Marchese was apparently a real survivor, as she is listed as a saloon proprietor in 1920 Cicero, Illinois, with young Joseph as a saloon waiter. This younger Joseph, though as far as I know, never married, had three children by at least two different women. And I'd dearly love to find my half brother or sister--or just more information about these people, their lives, where they came from, their families. Can you help?
