Highland, Illinois

Silver Creek Chapter was organized October 14, 1983.

Silver Creek was important to the early settlers of our area as a source for salt. The banks of Silver Creek provided limestone, sandstone and coal for our pioneers. Today it continues to provide by being a primary water source for a wide area.

Silver Creek Chapter meets every third Saturday of the month
at 12:30 p.m. in the Auditorium in the lower level
of the Latzer Memorial Library.

Latzer Memorial Library, located at 1001 9th St. in Highland,
was built in 1929 by the Louis Latzer Family.
Mr. Latzer was one of the founders of Pet Milk Co.
