I'm looking for family info for Mahala Sidwell of Fayette Co., ILL.
She md. Adam Allen Guthrie, 14-Jan-1830, in Fayette County, ILL. She was
the daughter of William Sidwell and Mary Key.
This is not a direct connection to my family but Adam Allen Guthrie
was the brother of my 4th ggrandfather, George Washington Guthrie. I'm

Moses James SIMS had son Abe daughter Adie and son Riley Rufus
SIMS
born 3 Oct 1869 Vandalia Fayette County. RR SIMS was in business
in Chicago New York London Paris and Berlin Manufacture and retail jewellery
and wartime manufacture (in UK). He owned a house near London and an orange
ranch in Florida. 2 sons born England and daughter born Florida. 1 son
survives and grandchildren. Died in an accident near London 22 Aug 1922.

Elmira M Daniel Jonas Hicks, Elvira (Twin To Elmira), Stella, Alice, Lucy,
Mary, Charlie Mikel m Ida Hicks, Albert m Stella Gillmore. Any info on
any of these people will be greatly appreciated. I know the Twins were
born on 28 sept. 1872. I was led to believe most of the family moved to

Looking for the GUTHRIE families of: Adam GUTHRIE, lived in Fayette
County, IL in 1850, age 42/Farmer. Children's names: Francis M., David
M., William S., and Richard L. Jackson GUTHRIE, Lived in Fayette County,
IL in 1850, age 32/Farmer. Married to Lauista (?) Austin. Had two children
in
1850, Carlin (?) and unknown. Gilbert GUTHRIE, Lived in Fayette County,
IL in 1850, age 25/Farmer. He was married to a Emily I. (?) My 3rd Ggrandfather
was George Washington GUTHRIE, who was living in Fayette Co., in 1850 ...
in the same area as these other Guthrie's. G.W. Guthrie married a Jane
AUSTIN, and had two children. John A. GUTHRIE and Eliza A. GUTHRIE, in
1850 Eliza was living in the household of Allen AUSTIN. Allen was probably
the brother of Jane AUSTIN. He later married Margaret Harris Cothren. G.W.
and Margaret moved the family to Kansas. I'm trying to locate the other
GUTHRIE families of Fayette County. In hopes of finding a missing connection,
and the parents of G.W. Guthrie!

Rhonda Luella Robbins born 1882 in Se-Eluio, Fayette County.
Married George Judson Morris Feb 23,1903.
Have no information on her family at all and still looking for information
on George's family.
Children:
Ella May, Mildred, Velmont, Jerome, Richard, Elizabeth Maryjane (my
grandmother) Robert Morris.
Elizabeth died very young leaving a 15month old son, my Dad.
She married Charles Earl Chamberlain and died in Roseburg, Oregon.
We are really trying to find Elizabeth's family.

I'm researching my father's family who lived in Fayette County (Vandalia,
Brownstown, Loogotee, St. Elmo's) from the mid/late 1800s to present.
GGF Wesley Sylvester Helm married Mayme???. Their children were Clarence,
Bertha and Gertrude (twins) and Fern.
Bertha married Laren Whitehead. Their daughter Farold married Gerald
Zimmer
Gerttrude (Gertie) married Frank 'Mike' Pruett. Daughter Frankie married
Vance Guffey. They had a daughter named Jeannie
Fern married Bill Smail. They had two daughters, Janet and Shirley
Clarence married Florence Ellen Oliver (parents' names unknown but
I believe her mother immigrated from Germany). Florence had one brother
and three sisters: Hugh Oliver, Hattie Oliver, Bessie Oliver Pruitt, and
Phoebe Oliver Stuttwig (married John Stuttwig, lived in East St. Louis).
Clarence and Florence had three children: Louise, Lawrence Wesley and
Roger.
Louise married Ervin Schwarm, son of Arl and Nelle Schwarm
They had five children, three of whom still live in the area:
Herschel married ????, had a son named Brent
Bob married ????
Arlene married ????, has children
Ervin/Little Moody (died in high school)
Becky (died in late teens, early 20s)
Lawrence Wesley (my father) - married Lois Imogene Foxworthy, daughter

RILEY / BARON
George Riley of North Carolina and America (?) of Kentucky had several
children and lived in Fayette Co. in 1850. All children are listed as being
born in IL. Their third child, Caroline Riley married a Joseph Baron in
2 Jan. 1861 in Fayette Co.
According to family story Joseph immigrated from Luxemburg (maybe the
country or Luxemburg, Stearns
Co. MN). They died in a hotel fire, or of typhoid depending on who
you talk to. They were both dead
by their daughter Susan Geneva Baron's marriage on 23 Dec. 1880 to
Henry Clay Moore in Evansville
Precinct, Randolph Co. IL

Looking for decendants of Daniel and Margaret Davis Crotser who had
sons George, Cody, Herbert, Edward, Quincy Crotser, and Daughter Hannah
Crotser Allen in Fayette County< Il. This search is being conducted
by the family of the child Hubert Moses Crotser who was born June 7, 1913
to the widow Rosibell Smith Crotser, following the death of his father,
Herbert A. Crotser, on December 2, 1912. Rosibell Smith Crotser then married
Hugh Dennis Cleary and the child was known by the name Herbert Morris Cleary.
His name was legally changed from Crotser to Cleary and we as descendents
would like to locate our Crotser relatives.

IL. Born July 1888-1890. Married his first cousin Ethel Deborah Williams
on 15 December 1915. He was a machinist by trade. Had two Children: Charles
Rex born 1917 and Ralph Lee born 17 Sept 1920. Jesse dissappeared around
1929. His father was Charles R. Williams, his mother was Nannie Zent. Jesse
lived/worked in the St. Louis area for a while between 1915 and when he
dissappeared.

I'm looking for information on David Carter Gill. He was married to
Susan F. Wicker and lived in Fayette County, Illinois. Marriage date 6/7/1858.
Together they had 7 children: David Matthew (twin), Henry Thomas (twin),
Amanda, Mariah J., Ellen, Polly and Addie M. Also if anyone knows anything
about Polly I would love to hear from them. David Carter Gill and Susan
Wicker are buried on land now owned by the Greene Family. The land passed
to the Greene's by the marriage of one of the daughter's who married a
Greene after David Carter Gill died.

Fayette County, IL. I don't know her father's first name, but I believe
her mother was Polly KING. I believe she may have had a brother, Archibald,
born about 1824. When she was 9 years old, her parents died and she was
sent to live with an uncle in New London, Henry County, Iowa. There she
met and eventually married Thomas HARDIN. Together they moved to Linn County,

BROWNING Cemetery west of Vandalia, Shafter Twp,Fayette Co, IL is taken
care of by Bethal Baptist Church. Try contacting them. My paternal great-grandmother
Rachel Le (CHESHIRE) HIMES,(wife of William Henry HIMES) donated more land
for the cemetery abt 1907. The little farmhouse on the east side of the
cemetery was hers, then my grandfather Ernest Wm. HIMES. I grew up playing
beside the cemetery. Grandfather's barn was on the south side. My maternal
grandmother Morna
Evalene (BESS) HIMES ancestors relatives donated the original Cemetery
land. My grandparents Ernest Wm. HIMES and Morna Evalene (BESS)and her
parents my great grandparents
Henry BESS and Sarah Elizabeth (ELMORE) are buried there. I hope this
helps. I now live 1300
miles away from there in New Mexico.
I know Lloyd BROWNING is still living, but up in years.
I would try contacting the Bethal Baptist Church first.

looking for information on Samuel Frank Trailor or Traylor.
Born 1870, Died Oct.-Dec. 1895. Died about six months before my grandmother
was born, of T.B. I don't have any way of knowing where the sanitariums
were in that time frame so I haven't been able to locate a death certificate.
I do know however that he married Stella (Osburn) Nov. 23,1892, she was
born in 1878, they had one child that died in infancy, and my grandmother
that was born May 18, 1896. The marriage certicate says Sam Trailor lived
Ramsey,Ill. and she lived in Mulberry Grove, Ill. I think they are in Fayette
Co. Would appreciate any information that I could get on him and his parents.
We pretty much have the info on Stella.

am doing research on my family and would be interested on information
on Anderson HICKS who was born in Fayette county, Ill. on 21 August 1831(died
28 June 1931) who married Eliza Ann MASSEY who was born on 18 July 1839
in Fayette county Ill.. The marriage took place in Barton county Mo. on
26 March 1857 and was officiated by Richard Hicks J.P. -

Harmon Carr b. 5 Nov 1832 d. 26 Nov 1897 IL lived in Gerard, Macoupin
Co., IL and may have come from Fayette Co. IL. His wife's name was Margaret.
Does anyone know of this man in Fayette Co?

BRAINERD / BRAINARD / AUSTIN
Trying to locate the burial place of Zina (aka William) Brainard. Zina
came from NY to MI.,probably in the 1870's. He married Ida Mae Austin in
1883. After Ida Mae's death in 1900, he and his son Grover moved to Hissong,
Fayette Co., IL. According to the information that I have he was a grocer
and died there in 1903. I have been unable to locate the cemetery that
he was buried in. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on my husbands,Steve Crotser, side of
the family. I saw a message posted about a Murvil Crotser. Some one from
Fayette had posted it. I am new to this and have little information on
the Crotser family.
Here is what I know...
Steve Crotser is the son of Thomas Albert Crotser.
Thomas is the son of Rolla Pearl and Ila Mae Crotser.
Rolla was a brother to Murvil Crotser, who had drowned in July 1914.

STODDARD / STOKES / LIVINGSTON
I am searching for information on WIlliam H(ooker) Stoddard who moved
with wife Dorothy and (hopefully) daughter Lucy to
Fayette Co. IL in Dec 1838. They purportedly lived with Uncle Jimmy
Stokes (no clue) for a few days before they settled down and found a home.
I find numerous Land records in early 1839 for William H Stoddard which
I am still researching. He was purportedly and Reverend and Lucy (my GG
Grandmother) was an assitant teacher at Vandalia(?). If I can connect this
will be a major link in my genealogy.

SHAFFER / TAYLOR-DIXON
I am looking for my Grandfather ADAM SHAFFER that moved to Fayette
county in the late 1800's. He moved there with his Father ADAM SHAFFER
and Mother MARY JANE TAYLOR-DIXON SHAFFER. He married ABIGAIL DAVIS and
had his family in and around Bingham and Fillmore. His Father died in Fillmore
in about 1886. I'm not sure where his Mother is buried but his Father is
buried in the Brown Cemetery outside of Coffeen. If anyone has any information
on this family I would sure appreciate the help.

I am looking for a marriage record or a census record showing a Sam
E Elder marrying Elizabeth Gray around 1830-1850s. This is my great-great-grandparents.
My great-grandfather, Thomas Denton Elder was born in Illinois. I also
believed he met his wife Hettie Mariah E. McKenzie around Fayette County,
Illinois. I know that there are alot of McKenzies buried in St. Elmo, Illnois.
Any help would be great appreciated!!
