Lola M. BRAZLE Crotser

Lola M. Crotser, 81, mother of former Herald Whig general manager, F. Max Crotser, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, September 19, 1994, in Brighton Pavilion. She was formerly of Vandalia. Born February 13, 1913 in Brownstown, Mrs. Crotser was a daughter of Fred and Lula Griffith BRAZLE. She married Charles F. Crotser in Vandalia. He died November 19, 1972.

Mrs. Crotser worked for many years as a waitress and also in the Vandalia Shoe Factory. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Vandalia. Survivors include a son, Max Crotser, president and publisher of the Daily Times in Maryville Tennessee; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Jo Lou) Ewart of Lansing, Michigan; a brother Hubert of Brownstown; seven grandchildren, Charles Crotser of Fairport, N.Y., Daniel and Doug Mains, both of Marion, Indiana, Brad Ewart of Lansing, Michigan; Tim Ewart of South Lyons, Michigan; Mrs. Cindy Karnz of Dansville, Michigan and Mrs. Lori Peck of Hilton, N.Y. and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Crotser was preceded in death by four sisters, Nola HEBERN, Irene DIECKMAN, Lois GRANDFIELD and Esther BLATHERWICK; and five brothers, Cecil, Loren, Merlin, Bob and Milas. Graveside services will be conducted at Noon Thursday in Liberty Church Cemetery in Brownstown by the Rev. John Koch. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. at the Hansen Spear Funeral Home in Quincy and 11 to Noon Thursday at the Cemetery.
