Funeral services for Eber E. Mahon, 83, a former
Fayette county resident, were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Beck's
funeral home at Bloomington.
Mr. Mahon, a retired pharmacist, was the son
of the late Jeduthan and Ruth Mahon, pioneer settlers on Hickory creek
at what is known as Old Loogootee, in Wheatland township, this county.
His boyhood days were spent on the farm.
Upon reaching adulthood he entered college and graduated in pharmacy in
which profession he was engaged until retirment a few years ago. He located
in Decatur in 1930 and lived there most of the last 11 years. His
death occurred Monday afternoon in the home of a daughter, Mrs. M.I. Loberg,
in Chicago, with whom he shared a home a portion of his declining years.
Besides the daughter, Mrs. Loberg, he leaves a son, Ralph A. Mahon,
of Decatur, and other relatives.
