Museum open Sundays: The museum is closed in January re-opening in February on the first and third Sunday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m. staffed by volunteer docents. New donations include most of the bound volumes of the Fox Lake Press for the years since it was founded in 1955, donated by the new owners. In years past we have been given a large ice saw from Gerd Klausmeyer, a school flag from the Fox Lake grade school, and over 20 scrapbooks from Marge Schuenemann. This year being the 200th birthday of our 16th President and native son, Abraham Lincoln, the Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society is proud to open their display on his life and accomplishments. Stop by Grant Hall Museum and celebrate the spirit of this remarkable man. If you think we might be interested in your memorabilia, we probably are! Donations can be on loan or a gift to the museum. Each item will be carefully identified and catalogued. If you have any questions or contributions, or want to volunteer, email the Historical Society at FLGrantHall@yahoo.com |
