Celebrate Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce 1909 - 2009

This year is the 100th anniversary of the Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce. The Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society is delighted to join in these celebrations!

Our 12th Birthday 1997 - 2009

At the same time we will be celebrating two great anniversaries of our own.

April marks the Twelfth Anniversary of incorporating the Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society.

It also is the Sixth Anniversary of our acquiring the nearly century-old former Grant Township Hall which our hard-working officers and volunteers have turned into our headquarters, meeting hall and Museum.

Met January 17

Our first general meeting of 2007 was Saturday morning, January 17, at Grant Hall Museum at 9:30 a.m.

Discussion was about the Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce and businesses from 1909 to 2009.

Museum Given Set Of Fox Lake Press

The new owners of the former Fox Lake Press have given us many bound volumes of the Fox Lake Press for the years since it was founded in 1955.

These contain a bird's-eye view into history of the Fox Lake-Grant Township area for the past half century!

The Fox Lake-Grant Township Area Historical Society is delighted to receive this tremendous gift. We managed to find enough shelf space to house them in our headquarters office at Grant Hall Museum so they can be used for research and study.

Continue Night Meetings

The May 14th meeting will celebrate our milestone anniversaries this year: the Historical Society's Twelfth and Grant Hall Museum's Sixth!
