I have traced one of my ancestors to Franklin Co., Illinois. His name is
Baker KING. I found him listed on the 1850 Census but not afterwards. I have
info that he was born in 175_? from another census. I also have been told that
he lived to be roughly 100-103 years old. I think that he was from around Ewing
township. Could anyone from this area contact me if you have any information at

I am looking for decendents of James JOHNSON and Sally BRUCE JOHNSON who
lived in Franklin Co. Il. around the 1850's. My greatgrandmother is the only one
I can find. Sarah Jane JOHNSON, she married a Wm. RAINES in Jersey co..Il.
01/02/1865 and he died in 03/03/1868. They had a son William RAINES born 29 Jan
1866. A cousin told me that James and Sally had a son named James Franklin and a
son named Thomas. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for the family of John Raymond Smith. His parents,
William Thomas SMITH and Nora BRIDGES, had at least seven children: John Raymond
Smith (1901-81, married Mary LaVeda ORR), Charlie, Willard, Elmer, Edith, Elsie
(married a man named FROST), and Blanch (b. 1915 d. 1971, married Richard
SEATON). The family may have moved to Franklin Co. from Washington Co.,
eventually some children ended up in St. Clair Co. I do not know Nora's or

I am looking for information on Charles L. KINKADE, b. abt 1880, married
Bertha Mae SMITH abt. 1910. They resided in Benton. I'm sorry, but I have no
idea when he died. I think it was before 1945. They had at least 10 children:
Charles, Vivian, Dorothy, Eloise, Gilbert, Noble, Nolan, Benjamin, a daughter
nicknamed "Prissy", and a son whose name I can't remember. Bertha died around

I am searching for information on my mother's birth parents. They
were William Harvey TREAT and Ella Irene BURNS. Ella may have been married to a
man named Red CANTRELL before marrying William. William died in 1938 and is
buried in the Logan Baptist Church Cememtery in Logan, Franklin, Co. Ella died
in 1971 and is also buried there. William's father was Charles TREAT and his
wife was named Katie (possibly Katherine, as that is my mother's middle name)
William had a brother named Everett who died in 1971 in Dix, IL and a sister
called Daisy Jewel who died in Benton, IL in the mid 80's. If anyone has info on

I'm searching for the parents of Samuel B. BAKER b. Dec. 28, 1837. His
bio lists him as farmer from West Frankfort, Franklin County. His father died
when he was about eight yrs. old, or about 1845. He helped his mother by working
out of the home, until he enlisted in the Civil War at St. Louis, MO. He married
Sarah ROBINSON from Carbondale, IL and moved to Williamson County, where they
raised a family and both died and are buried in Grassy Twp. Williamson Co. It is
listed that he had two younger brothers. I'm trying to link him to the other
Williamson County BAKERs.

I am looking for the parents of my grandfather, Leo BARTKUS. Leo BARTKUS
was born in West Frankfort, IL, on 14 Jun 1921. The family eventually moved to
Chicago. I don't know how long they were in the West Frankfort area. I do know

I have a Louisa Phillips who was married to Matthew S. Kirk. I beleive
that Louisa and Matthew were married in McMinn County, TN. There son, my great
great grandfather was Andrew English Kirk. Andrew was born in Washington County,
TN. in 1847. They are in Jefferson County by the 1850 census. I beleive that
Peter Phillips is the father of Louisa. I have heard that there is a Peter
Phillips cemetery in Ewing, Franklin Co., IL. Is there anyone tracing there
Phillips family that ties into this Peter Phillips. I would love to connect my

am Thomas Reed HATCHETT's g grandson. His dad is Thomas S. HATCHETT. T. Reed is
buried at Mt. Etna cemetary.His father, Thomas S. is buried somewhere out by the
Franklin/Hamilton Co. line where his farm was. I am looking for some sort of
link or connection between the two. Thomas R died on Jan 2 1929. The death date

am looking for information on Kate McPHAIL and Rev. Daniel R. WALKER who were
married in Prosperity, Franklin Co. in 1891 and were divorced in 1899. That was
after he married my husband's grandmother in 1897! He left her a couple years
later when his son was a month old. He was supposedly from DuQuoin, Perry Co. We
have been trying to get information on him for a long time. I just learned this
new information in an old Missouri newspaper and am hopeful that someone will

g grandfather worked in a mine in West Frankfort, IL. He and his family lived in
a mine camp. Does anyone know what company had mines in West Frankfort, or the
name or location of any mine camps? My gg grandfather's name was Robert DOWNEY
and his wife was Ostella BAIRD DOWNEY. My grandfather's name is Ira DOWNEY. He
remembers the Tri State tornado if that helps with the time frame that they were

I have found an index to Franklin County probate records which listed
Elbert S. KIRKPATRICK (b.1831, d.1860?) in box-17. I would like a copy of this
will. He married Adeline FORD in Mulkeytown. They both may be buried in the Old
Mulkeytown Cemetery. I'd be grateful for any information about these
individuals. Also I've corresponded with Jane BENNIS and since her surgery I

Spelling varies for the DUNIVAN name... Searching for info for this
family:
Father James DUNIVAN born abt. 1863, married Emma (Emaline) Orr. Known
children from this marriage are Nellie Jane DUNIVAN born 1883, (who later
married Daniel Harvey BRYANT in White County) and Roy DUNIVAN born abt. 1898.
Unsure if there is another child from this marriage or not....
James DUNIVAN later remarried abt. 1900 to a Jennie BROWNING born 1870. Known
children from this marriage are Erskin born 1900, Ebert born 1905, and Everett
born 1909.
Ebert later moved to the Springfield, Illinois area. Ebert's wife's name was
Pearl???
Unsure what Ebert's son's name was, but the son's wife's name was Shirley,
and she repaired or made dolls.
