I'm looking for my gggrandfather, William George HUTCHISON, who disappeared from the TN Census in 1830. Some say he went to IL before winding up in MO., but he was dead before the 1850 Newton Co. MO. Census because his wife, Jane, showed up as head of house. Where was he in 1840?
They may have been travelling with a COPE or a CAPPS family.

Looking for information on the family of Robert Pate, age 27,(residing in and born in Gallatin Co.,IL) who married Katie Vaughn, age 16,(born in Union County, KY,) on Oct.12, 1890 in Shawneetown IL. Married by Patrick Smith, PM. Witnessed by Silas Cook, County clerk.Robert was a farmer whose parents were Robert Pate and T. Adams. Katie Vaughns father was David Vaughn, mothers last name not readable. Robert and Katie had several children, two girls and a boy. One girl, Emma, was born in Oct. 1893 perhaps in Shawneetown but no record exists. The boy was born prior to 1893 and the other girl after 1893.
In 1897 all three children were placed in The Chicago Childrens Home and adopted out. Their father was supposedly deceased at that time. I would like any information on this family. The 1920 Gallatin County, Gold Hill census shows my great grandfather, Charles Bastnagel (b1887), as head with his wife, Daisy, and sons, Erwin (b1912) and Earl B. On the same page, the previous household is Henry Bastnagel (b1852), parents from Germany and France.
I'm wondering if there's a previous census that shows Charles Bastnagel (b1887) living as son of Henry Bastnagel (b1852). If I can make the link between the two of them then I've finished the Bastnagel tree in the states, then must move on over to Germany to gather the rest of the data.

My Great Grandfather, Thomas Curry married to Nancy Jane Tinsley, served in the Civil War for State of Illinois, Company I, Unit 118 residence of Elizabeth, Gallatin County. I have found the Curry-Tinsley household in Crittenden County Kentucky, town of Tolu. I have a photograph of Thomas Curry in his Union Uniform, and always thought he had fought for the side of Kentucky, but evidently he fought for Illinois on the Union Side. I am not familiar with a town called Elizabeth. I have heard of Elizabethtown..is that the same? Are there any families researching the Curry or Tinsley families? Thanks, Dennis Doughty

Subject: [Lamb] R.A. Lamb of Gallatin County, IL
History of Gallatin, Saline, Hamilton, Franklin and Williamson County, IL 1887
R.A. Lamb
R.A.Lamb, farmer, near Ridgway, IL, was born in Gallatin County in 1836. He
is one of five children of John and Elizabeth (Dillard) Lamb. The father was
a blacksmith and farmer, came to Gallatin County when a young man and there

received the education of the schools near his home, and in December, 1853,
he was married. His wife was Maria, daughter of John W. and Elender Hancock,
born in Gallatin County in 1834. Her death occurred in September, 1885.
Their eight children are all living. Mr. Lamb located where he now resides
in 1865, and has 130 acres of valuable, improved land. He is a
public-spirited man, is politically a Republican, and is a member of the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

MEYER, ANDERSON, DILLARD, DOWNEN. I am searching for the above mentioned surnames. Dale Meyer (1913-1961) was my grandfather. He was the son of Fred and Becky Meyer. He had three brothers --
Burtis, Curtis, and Emil -- and a sister -- Agnes. He married Mary Catherine (Anderson) Meyer (1915-1993?). Catherine was the daughter of William Lee and Nolas (Dillard) Anderson. She had three brothers -- Hilas, Roy, and Doyle -- and one sister -- Hazel (Anderson) Heath. William Lee Anderson was the son of John C. and Hannah (Downen) Anderson. Hannah was the daughter of George Tillman and Lucretta Cully Downen. I would just like to have some of the branches of my family tree filled in: I know nothing of the Meyer, Anderson, or Dillard side of my family, and I would like to hear from anyone with information concerning these surnames.
