Hyman, at the fall term of court in 1898, and sentenced to the
penitentiary for a term of 50 years. Through the persistent
efforts of
his sister, Mrs. Pete Lane, and a few others, his sentence was
commuted
by Governor Deneen from 50 years to a little more than 11
years
