Hunter Cemetery Work Weekend/Reunion SAVE THESE DATES!! The fourth biennial Hunter Cemetery Work Weekend and Reunion will be held June 8, 9, & 10, 2007 in Bureau County, Illinois. YES! It's that time again! It's hard to believe it has been two years since we got together in Bureau County, Illinois to work on this beautiful old cemetery. Lots of plans have been made and we hope you can come to join in the fun! If you haven't had the opportunity to join us in the past this would be the year to attend. A block of rooms is being held for our group at the Super 8 Motel in Princeton, Illinois. The Super 8 is located North of Interstate 80 at Exit 56. They have an indoor pool and a free continental breakfast each morning. Everyone is responsible for their own reservations and can be made by calling 815-872-8888. Be sure to tell them you are with the Hunter Cemetery group to get the discounted rate. A free lunch will be served at the cemetery both days...donations will gladly be accepted to help cover the cost. Once again we will be holding a raffle and are seeking prizes for this. Start going through those boxes and albums of OLD family photos for ones that would look great on the front of a Christmas card! You know....the REALLY OLD ones. We will be printing these up to sell as our next fundraiser. What a fun way to surprise your family and friends next holiday season. Be sure to put your name on the back of the photo so we know who to return it to, and bring it with you. Jim will also demonstrate how to repair and reset the stones, and how to make a new keystone. The fence project continues. We'll need to install the remaining 31 sections of fence left to be installed and one walk-in gate to complete this project. Friday evening will be a Meet, Greet & EAT at the Prime Quarter Steak House in Princeton, Illinois. This fun event gives us a chance to get to know everyone. Those that are interested in the paranormal can attend an investigation by Barb Huyser at the cemetery. She will have her special equipment set up, and will be able to tell us about the paranormal activities at Hunter. This will be held after dinner. Saturday, June 9, 2007 We will begin work on Lois's Butterfly & Hummingbird Garden. This serenity garden will be in the Northwest corner of the cemetery, and will contain a walkway and a bench, in addition to the flowering plants, etc. Lois Gale has donated the funding for this project. Work will continue on the fence project, stone repair, resetting, etc. Saturday evening will be our Biennial Membership Banquet to be held at the Metro Center in Princeton, Illinois. Everyone is invited to attend this fun and informative event. Sunday, June 10, 2007 As part of the Hunter Cemetery work and play week end we are having a Golf Tournament to be held at the Indian Hills Golf Club, just one mile south of Tiskilwa, Illinois, starting at 8:30 AM.  The format will be a 9 hole scramble. This means each player of the foursome will hit a tee shot. The team will pick the best shot and then all four members will play from that spot. This is repeated until the ball is in the hole. This format will allow everyone to have some fun, even the players who have little experience. Contact Ron Moranville   if you're interested in taking part in  this event,  Ron says even those who don't know how to play golf can take part! The old fashioned family picnic will be held at West Park in Tiskilwa, Illinois. Lunch will be served at 1pm. After lunch the winners of the golf tournament will be announced and the drawing of the raffle prizes will be held.
