I was looking at some of your “Do you know any of these folks?” photos and I think I know two of them. Fisher may well be Ferdinand Maximillian Fisher. Ferdinand lived in Yorktown for many years and was the Postmaster in the 1910 and 1920 census. After his father Jacob Fisher died, his mother Dorothea Grabenhorst Fisher married Barnhardt (Benhardt?) Wolf from Yorktown in 1871.

The picture Gerhart Wolf is probably the son of Barnhardt’s brother John Jacob Wolf and his wife Lessettia. Gerhart’s sister, Molena, married Ferdinand’s brother Henry Fisher.

I have been working on the Grabenhorst genealogy and have gathered a lot of information about Dorothea’s descendants-most of them stayed in Henry County. I was in contact with you several years ago and Mary Jane put me in contact with Helen Theobald who sent me a copy of her Wolf Family Genealogy.

I am updating my Grabenhorst website and there will be a section On Dorothea and her descendents. I will send you a link when it is done.

Regards

Stephany Grabenhorst Smith
