An archive is simply a
place in which public records or historical documents are preserved.
Below are links to various archives which house information which may be
useful in locating and documenting your Henry County ancestors.

contains miscellaneous
transcribed data regarding Henry County
Illinois
Regional Archives Depository
IRAD houses records
from local governments including counties, townships, municipalities and
school districts.
Miscellaneous records
have been transferred to the seven regional depositories throughout the
state. Not all counties have transferred all types of records, but
there are quite a number of Henry County records available. Copy
prices are minimal but reply time is not particularly quick due to the
volume of requests they receive. Items for Henry County are housed at

The Illinois State
Archives are mandated by law as the depository of public records of Illinois

Archives and Records Administration
The National Archives
is a network of facilities housing all manner of documents available to
the public, including census and military records. Their website
offers a separate section for Genealogical

RLDS
(Community of Christ) Archives
Now known as the Community
of Christ, the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,
the RLDS had an active community in Henry County, and also had an
effect on migration from Henry Co. to Iowa.
If your ancestors had
an RLDS tie, you will want to check with their archives. This
