MARTHA WATTS ROBINSON  (1854 – 1913)

Martha was born a slave in 1854 in Nazareth, Kentucky.  Martha and her family were owned by the Catholic Church.  Martha Robinson and her family were the first to migrate to Chicago in the early 1870s to pave a way for the other family members to follow.

Martha Robinson worked as a domestic to send money back to her family in Nazareth, Kentucky.  Ms Robinson died in 1913 in Chicago.
