Are Needed To Help Pay Expenses
Of Our Society
| Our society is a non-profit
organization and a tax-exempt organization under 501(c) (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code . (A receipt will be given you upon request). We are an all
volunteer Genealogical and Historical Society located and specializing
in Morgan Co., Illinois family records. Our society library is located
at 416 South Main Street, Jacksonville, Illinois 62650-2904.
Unlike public libraries, genealogical and historical societies are not
tax funded. Membership dues are kept minimal, therefore our society needs
your donations to help pay space rent, telephone, upkeep of computers,
copiers, and scanners, other office supplies and incidentials. We do have
a fund toward the day when we might have our own building.. Most of our
monthly meeting speakers have donated their services. The society has no
employees--but we do have volunteers who devote many hours to fulfilling
the needs of our society as they arise. To find out the names of some of
