Stephen H. Atchison

Stephen H. ATCHISON, an old resident of Jefferson County, IL, died 
near Batesville, Arkansas, of pneumonia, February 28th, 1910, aged 60y9m8d.  
Mr. ATCHISON was well known here, having resided on what is known as the 
Atchison Hill near Lynchburg, the greater part of his life, or until November, 
1903, when he moved to Batesville, Arkansas, on account of failing health.  
He was a moral man, but never professed faith in Christ until a few moments 
before his death, when he made a beautiful and bright profession. It was 
his wish to be brought back here for burial. He leaves a wife, a sister, and 
a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss.  

The funeral services were conducted at the Opdyke M. E. Church by the Rev. 
Mr. HOAR, and his body laid to rest in Opdyke Cemetery.
