Irene Barker

DU QUOIN - Irene Barker, 81, died at 2 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, 
in the Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.

Irene had worked as a bookkeeper for Farm Service. She was of 
Christian faith.

She was born May 12, 1927, in Keenes, the daughter of Clifford and 
Dorothy (McCord) Donoho.

She married Joel Don "J.D." Barker on Aug. 31, 1946, in Rochelle, and 
he preceded her in death Feb. 6, 2008.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Barker and wife, Janet, of Mendota, 
Perry Barker of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Jeff Barker and wife, Kathy, of 
Du Quoin; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister; and 
four brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in the Searby 
Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from noon until time of service Sunday at the funeral home. 
Burial will be in Old Du Quoin Cemetery.

Friends may make memorials to Old Du Quoin Cemetery and will be accepted at 
the funeral home.
