Jesse Birdsong, Former Resident, Dies in Ohio

Word has been received here of the death of Jesse O. Birdsong, which occurred June 3 in Oberlin, Ohio. He was 76 years of age.

A former resident of Mt. Vernon, he had resided in Ohio for many years. He was a Spanish American War Veteran, having served with K Co., 9th Illinois Infantry.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine (Bostrand) Birdsong, and one daughter, Katherine.

He is survived by four sons, Keith, Adrian, Donald and Walton; five daughters, Nadine, Dorothy, Ursula, Marian and Patricia; and two brothers, John of Mt. Vernon and George E. of New Orleans, LA.

Funeral services and burial were to be held in Oberlin today.
