Hubert Bitner Of Mt. Vernon Died At Age 85 Hubert L. Bitner, 85, of 724 Main St., and late of Mt. Vernon Care Facility, died 7:12 p.m. March 25, 1990, at Mt. Vernon Care Facility. Mr. Bitner was a foundry worker at Alcoa Aluminum Co. in Chicago until retirement. He was born Feb. 13, 1905, in Jefferson County, a son of John and Cora (Beckman) Bitner. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Hickory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. Mr. Bitner is survived by two nieces, Mrs. James H. “Jim” (Jacqueline) Hofer of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Dale (Marjorie) Sulcer of Rochester; and several cousins. Mr. Bitner was an Army veteran of World War II.
