Cora BRITTON
Mrs. Cora Britton of 1808? Broadway died at 11:00 a.m.
Monday at the Setzekorn Nursing Home at the age of 89 years, 
one month and 18 days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Myers Chapel.
Burial will be in South Hickory Hill cemetery.
The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends 
may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday 

Mrs. Britton was born April 20, 1875 in Jefferson county, the 
daughter of Elijah and Nora (Wells) Wilson. 
She was first married to John Logan Hayes, who preceded her in 
death in 1917. In St. Louis, in 1942, she married Ollie Britton, 
who preceded her in death in 1951. She was also preceded in death
by three sons, a step-son, and a daughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Reece of Blue Island, 
Ill and Mrs. Ada Morrow of St. Louis; a son Elijah Wilson Hayes of
Mt. Vernon; a brother Joe Wilson of RFD 3, Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren
and 23 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Britton was a member of the Methodist Church.
