Sarah E. Carver
Funeral services for Sarah E. Carver, 96, who died yesterday morning at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Darrell Hanna of 7 Lakeview Estates, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at
the Pulley Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Clyde Funkhouser officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.
Mrs. Carver was born May 26, 1873, the daughter of Andrew and Martha (McConnaughy) Shurtz.
On May 31, 1900, she married G. K. (Kirk) Carver, who preceded her in death in 1945.
She was a member of the Epworth Methodist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Darrell E. (Turp) Hanna of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Frank (Gladys)
Ford of Mobile, Ala,; and two sisters, Gema Hirons of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mary Weaver of
Fresno, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eldridge Carver; five brothers and six sisters.
