Stephen A. Clinton, Jr.
Mr. Stephen (Steve) Arthur Clinton, Jr. of John’s Creek, GA, died Friday, December 31, 2010.
He was born on August 31, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the son of Stephen Arthur Clinton, Sr.
and Allie Gibbs Clinton. After graduation from Mount Vernon High School he attended Southern
Illinois University where he graduated with a B.A. in Industrial Engineering in June 1960.
He was married to Linda Rae Duncan on February 2, 1957. Mr. Clinton’s first employer was the
Kemper Insurance Company and he subsequently would become a lifelong employee of the firm finally
settling in the metro Atlanta area in 1966. He faithfully discharged his company duties for a
total of 44 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his oldest son, Stephen Wayne Clinton.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, his daughter Lea Dawn Fleming and her
children Stevie, Taylor and Reese of Suwanee, GA; his granddaughter Amber Clinton of Dahlonega, GA;
his son Tony Kip Clinton of Daytona Beach, FL and his lifelong adopted brother Clinton Louis Noren
of Charleston, SC.
After moving his family to the Atlanta area he became very involved in their many school activities
and worked diligently as coach and mentor for most of their sporting pursuits. His positive influence
was instrumental in their subsequent development as responsible, caring and loving individuals.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 3rd from 4:00-7:00 PM at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home,
5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Norcross, GA 30092. The memorial service will take place at Crowell
Brothers Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4th at 1:00 PM. The body will be cremated. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Stephen A. Clinton, Jr. to: Lewy Body
Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
