Harry H. Combs

Harry H. Combs, 85, of 106 Maple St. died at 7:05 p.m. Friday in St
Joseph's Hospital in Alton He became ill at noon Friday.
 
He was born June 17, 1889, in Opdyke He was married to Jennie Garrison,
on Dec 25, 1913, in Mount Vernon. She survives. 

Other survivors include a daughter, Karma Lee Parker of Woodland Hills,
Calif., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One brother
and four sisters preceded him in death. 

Mr. Combs worked for more than 40 years for Illinois Ben Telephone
until his retirement in 1954 He was a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic
Lodge and the telephone pioneers. 

He was a member of First Presbyterian church in Edwardsville.
 
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Weber Funeral Horne in
Edwardsville, with Rev, Carl Bennett officiating. Burial will be m
Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville. 
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home The family asks 
that memorials be given to the Heart Fund.
