RUTH H. DAVIS

Ruth H. Davis, 85, of Mt. Vernon died 3:15 p.m. 
July 28, 2005, at Casey Care Center in Mt. Vernon. 
She was a homemaker. 

Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Franklin County 
to Walter and Claudia (Meeps) Gulley. She married J. 
Donald Davis Nov. 4, 1939, in St. Charles, Mo.; he died 
May 3, 1997. 

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at South 
Hickory Hill Cemetery in rural Jefferson County. Gene Fox 
will officiate. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday 
at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. 

Mrs. Davis is survived by sons William D. "Bill" Davis and 
wife Karen of Ogden and Bobbie E. Davis and wife Diana of Mt. Vernon; 
eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and 
nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two 
brothers and four sisters. 

For those who wish, Memorials may be made to South Hickory Hill 
Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or may 
be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
