OBITUARY: The Mt. Vernon Register News published the following on Friday, 
June 2, 1905 which read:  

"Hall Dodds, a prominent citizen of this place, 
died at the home of his father-in-law, W. J. Gilbert Friday morning, and was 
buried at Salem Cemetery Saturday.  Mr. Dodd's sickness was of very short 
duration and was a great surprise to the members of the family."
