OBITUARY: The Mt. Vernon Register News published the following on Thursday, March 2, 1916 which read: "Joe Dodds, aged 57, a well known farmer in the south part of the county, dropped dead on his faarm, about three miles west of Ina, about 2 o'clock, yesterday. He was driving a drove of sheep into the barn to protect them from the heavy snow storm, when he suddenly dropped to the round and was dead in a very short time. Mr. Dodds has been in Ina during the day on business and appeared to be in good health, and his death was a great shock to his relatives. He was born near Mt. Vernon on the farm now occupied by Jerome Mannen, just at the western limits of this city." Submitted by: "Family Links" Feb 25, 2003
