Mrs. Artie Bond Duckworth Dies Mrs. Artie Bond Duckworth, of 822 Jordan street, died at 7:10 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Her age was 73 years, four months and two days. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. The Rev. Bird Green will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Mt. Vernon. The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mrs. Duckworth was the daughter of John R. and Matilda (Cawhorn) (NOTE: actually Cochran) Holloway. She was first married to J. A. Bond, who preceded her in death. She was later married to Henry Duckworth, who is also deceased. Mrs. Duckworth was a member of the White Oak church. She is survived by five sons, Jerome Bond of Shadney (NOTE: should be Shabbona), Ill., Lester and Ted Bond of Mt. Vernon, Lee Bond of Dix and Ross Bond of Poplar Grove, Ill.; and six brothers, Grant Holloway of Mt. Vernon, Tom of Livingston, Ill., Lee of Wayne City, George of Rochelle, John of Baldwin, Mo., and Charles of Bluford. A daughter and two sons preceded her in death. Date: 10 August 1948 Source: Mt.
