Isaac S. Duncan, a well known farmer, is dead. Man long a resident of this county died this afternoon at home of his daughter in Mt. Vernon. Isaac Stephen Duncan, retired farmer, died at 12:05 o’clock this afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Smith, 223 south Eighteenth street, after an illness which lasted little more than a week. Mr. Duncan is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lena Litchfield, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Mellie Hall of St. Louis, formerly of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Ruth Smith, with whom he made his home. Interment will take place at East Salem cemetery, following funeral services which will be held at the church at that place, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Mr. Duncan was born November 14, 1852. In April, 1878, he was married to Miss Eldora Hawkins and they were the parents of six children. Mrs. Duncan and three of the children preceded him in death.
