Thelma M. Clinton Dycus
Thelma M. Clinton "Tee" Dycus, age 76 of Hamilton, Illinois passed
away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 3:45 A.M. at the University of
Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born on December 12, 1934
in Sesser, Illinois a daughter of Carl and Rosilee Moss Clinton of
Ina. Thelma married Bobbie P. Dycus on September 19, 1953 in
Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2003.
Survivors include three daughters: Susie and (Ronald) Schulz of
Carthage, Illinois, Carol Dycus of Hamilton, Illinois and Mary Jane
Dycus of Hamilton, Illinois; two sons: Edward Dycus of Carthage,
Illinois and Larry Dycus of Hamilton, Illinois; three grandchildren:
Joshua Schulz of LaGrange, Missouri, Jeremy Schulz of Carthage, Illinois
and Jennifer and (Cory) Clostermery of Burnside, Illinois; three great
grandchildren: Caitlin, Jacob and Cara Colstermery; three brothers:
Tommy Clinton of Woodlawn, Illinois, Melvin Clinton of Ina, Illinois
and James Clinton of Olney, Illinois; and two sisters: Betty Baltzell
of Ewing, Illinois and Roberta England of Lewistown, Illinois. She is
also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog "Little Bit".
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter
(Katherine "A.J." Dycus) and a sister Geneva Clinton.
Thelma graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
She was a member of the Women's V.F.W. Auxiliary, the First Baptist
Church of Hamilton. Thelma was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting,
crafts, gardening and canning.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 after 2:00 P.M.
with the family meeting friends between 6:00 and 8:00 P.M. at the
Lamporte-St.Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton. Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lamporte-St.
Clair Funeral Home of Hamilton with Pastor Adam Dichen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois.
