April 10, 1936 

William Jerry ENGLAND, a Jefferson county residents for nearly 71 years, 
died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Albert Gutherie, in Dodds township this morning, 
His age was 77 years, 6 months, and 28 days. 

Funeral services will be held at two p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Old Shiloh church with 
Rev. Bird Green officiating. Interment will be made in Old Shiloh Cemetary. 

Mr. England was born in Conway, Faulkner twp. Ark on September 12, 1858, a son of 
Clabe and Martha Weatherford England, but moved to Jefferson county with his parents 
at the age of eight years. He had lived here since that time, becoming one of the best 
known Dodds township farmers. 

His wife, the former Sarah Ellen Allen, died April 25, 1934. Mr. England was a member 
of the Baptist church and lived the faith he confessed. 
Surviving are a son, William B. England of Mt. Vernon, two daughters Mrs. Gutherie and 
Mrs. Jennie Wright of St. Louis.
