Harry Fairchild Dies;
Jefferson County Native
Harry Fairchild of Secor, Illinois, a former resident of Waltonville and
Sesser, died Sunday at his home at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Brayfield Chapel
in Sesser with the Rev. Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will be in the
Knob Prairie Cemetary near Waltonville.
The body will lie in state at Brayfield's Chapel where friends may call
after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Fairchild was born on March 14, 1897, in Jefferson County, the son of
Rudolph and Eliza (Hodge) Fairchild.
He married Deplha Oard, who survives. Other survivors include: three sons,
Lawrence of Phoenix, John of Marquette Heights, Illinois, and Edgar of Secor;
three daughters, Mrs. Annabelle McGhee of Secor, and Mrs. Helen Overturf of
Benton; a step-daughter, Fay Bullock of Decatur; a brother, Fred of Centralia;
19 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
